This week we’ll create a to-do-list app—or rather two apps. The time-honored to-do app is almost a “Hello World” for mobile app development. That makes it great development fodder for learning RubyMotion. We won’t need to focus on a lot of the complexities of building an app on Android or iOS; we’ll instead be able to focus on what it means to build an app for those platforms using RubyMotion.

That’s where we’ll keep the focus, too: on seeing what it means to build an Android app, taking into account the specific needs of that platform, and then building an iOS app and exploring how it might be possible to consolidate some code into ...
