Intrinsic Motivation

Does the basketball player, who gets paid US$100,000 per week, score twice as many points as his teammate whose agent only negotiated their player a $50,000 contract? Does the fat-cat CEO who sets herself up with a US$6 million annual salary plus bonus (paid out irrespective of whether or not targets are met) generate US$5 million more than a CEO paid US$1 million? (Ariely 2008). Do graphic designers create more innovative conceptions if they are threatened with redundancy if the next design is not groundbreaking?
