Gathering Information

Always the first question is “Do we need to fill this post?” Organizations become slaves of habit and therefore omit challenging every newly vacant post. Especially in larger organizations, it is always useful to check out future needs using workforce planning (Miller, 2013). Some posts may no longer be needed by the organization; therefore, keeping them active for the sake of tradition is unnecessary and costly.
