So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 13: Bookkeeping basics
Proper bookkeeping can sometimes be a challenge for a person who has graduated with a design degree. This is because small business basics usually are not taught in design degree programs. As a result, most designers must learn the basics of bookkeeping on the job. For the most part, keeping the books for a business is an extension of the skills that you’ve already developed in order to manage your personal finances — that is, if you are a person who balances your checkbook every month. With those skills as a foundation, you’ll go on to learn some specialized terminology and become familiar with additional business record-keeping requirements.
