Long-Term Agile Planning
This chapter examines long-term planning for a product or epic for the next two or three quarters to five years. It begins with the full potential plan—an approach for planning transformative change over a three to five year period. Next, the chapter provides an overview of the agile approach to planning using minimum viable products (MVPs)—market experiments to test assumptions and determine the highest-value features to include in the product. Also included is an overview of the capabilities required for effective MVP implementation, such as continuous delivery capabilities. Figure 9.1 highlights the activities, events, and artifacts included in this chapter.
