Ethical Standards and Professionalism

Abstract

To be a Certified Fraud Examiner, ethics training is required annually. Many positions involving interviewing, investigating, security, fraud, and compliance also require such training. There are reasons that annual ethics training is mandated and why it is critical. Why are ethical standards so important in our profession? In this chapter we discuss how ethics define our professionalism as investigative interviewers and why we need to understand and work within a set of principles.
