Why look beyond my organization?

No organization exists in isolation. A lot of things that happen out there have an impact on the inner world of an organization. They form threats but also opportunities.

There are enough reasons to consciously follow what is going on beyond the borders of your organization. I am addressing some of the less apparent topics in this chapter.
