Part 1
You Ought to Be in Pictures: Development
Like me, you want to make films. But what does that really mean? And where do you start?
The first part of the process is called development, which commonly refers to finding, dramatically shaping, and communicating a filmic or visual idea.
In Part 1, you’ll see how to take your ideas and your unique view of the world to create a story that you can put on film. You’ll learn some of the dramatic elements common to most films and some of the ways your story can be presented to others. And by doing this you’ll begin your own development as a filmmaker.
