The Time for Kind Leadership Is Now

It’s February 1, 2021, and as I sit down to write today, here’s what I am thinking about:

• Almost seven hundred million people (about 9 percent of the world’s population) go hungry each day. That number grows every year, and at the current rate, by 2030, there are likely to be more than 840 million people starving.¹
• In 2020, in the US alone, more than 19,000 people died from gun violence, an almost 25 percent increase over 2019.²
