When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating Smart Objects
There are a number of ways to create a Smart Object from one or more layers. Select the layer(s) and use one of these methods:
• Choose Filter > Convert for Smart Filters.
• Choose Convert to Smart Object from the Layers panel menu.
• Choose Convert for Smart Filters from the layer’s context menu (Control-click on Mac, right-click on Windows).
Tip
To create a Smart Object while you open a file, choose File > Open as Smart Object rather than File > Open. If you use File > Place to import a file into the open document, it is automatically added as a Smart Object.
Camera Raw and Lightroom both have an option to work with Photoshop as Smart Objects—more on that later.
