I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Smart Objects
The introduction of first Smart Objects and then Smart Filters has had an incredibly significant impact on the way we work in Photoshop. No longer do we need to think this worrisome thought: “If I save the document, I won’t be able to change my mind.”
The best way I can think of to describe a Smart Object is as a container—a special, magical container! Think of it this way: When you convert a layer to a Smart Object, you are putting the contents of that layer into a protective container. You can still see the layer information, but you cannot directly edit the pixels. You can always double-click the Smart Object to view the contents of the container in a separate document.
