Executive remuneration (sometimes called executive compensation) as described in this tool consists of the pay and benefits of executive board directors in private sector companies and of members of the top management team in public or not-for-profit organizations. Executive remuneration policy may be the responsibility of a formally constituted remuneration committee (remcom) which is usually a subcommittee of the main board or governing body. This is generally regarded as good practice and the tool therefore deals with the concerns of such committees.
