It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 50. Use the Microphone to Your Advantage
Unless you’re speaking in a small room to just a few people, you may want to consider what a public address system might do for your presentation. If you have to strain your voice to speak loudly enough so everyone can hear you, then you need a PA system. If you can speak comfortably in conversational tones and are clearly understood by all in the room, then you probably don’t need amplification.
Using a microphone can seem intimidating at first, but once you try it out and grow accustomed to the amplified sound of your voice, you’ll be fine. Here are a few ideas to keep in mind as you approach the microphone for the first time:
