The app service plan allows us to configure the resources which will be required for your application to run. Here, "resources" means the region where you want to deploy the web application, the number of virtual machines, and whether you need shared or dedicated resources. All these configurations let you have a pricing plan to support your application.
The app service plan allows us to plan your scaling strategy, wherein you may want to deploy your application with a minimum set of resources and then increase the resources as and when the application demand increases.
