In the beginning, OSBI remained an area outside of mainstream BI.1 Companies adopting BI within the realm of OS were mainly those familiar with OS methodology and practices and incorporated these frameworks within their IT platforms. In most cases, adoption was driven from IT departments or within niche industries looking at solutions with lower price points.
