Chapter Two Vision & Process

NONE OF THIS IS EASY. The goal of all this is that we get closer to working intuitively, to wielding our tools so comfortably that they get out of the way and simply help us create images that express what we’re longing to express. That, in fact, might be the easy part. What’s hard is being conscious of what is essentially an unconscious (or subconscious) thought or emotion.

But if that thought or emotion is not conscious, then what good is it in driving our process?

Good question. In reply, I’d like to talk about writers; sometimes it’s easier to illustrate a point using something else entirely. Call it a parable or a metaphor.
