SPEND MUCH TIME in the world of Photoshop, Lightroom, or any other digital darkroom, and inevitably you’ll bang your head into the issue of style. One moment you’re happily looking for and refining your vision, and the next you’re racked with self-doubt. Why? Because someone will ask you what your style is. Or they’ll speak in hushed tones about so-and-so’s style, usually calling it the insert-name-here effect. Worse, they’ll be furiously trying to copy it, stalking the creator on discussion forums, hoping he’ll let his guard down and his secret slip. Heated discussions take place. Demands for tutorials and workshops. Wars have been fought for less.
