When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Maintainability
Because of the dynamic nature of the Web commerce environment and the variety of new applications that are constantly installed, it is critical that software can be modified and upgraded with a minimum of effort and without introducing unwanted consequences and bugs. The overall software architecture must be designed to support software enhancements. This characteristic can be described as maintainability. In general, maintainability in a Web commerce environment can be defined as:
- Minimizing the effort necessary to revise a website's software as necessary to keep up with new requirements
- Adapting extant Web commerce software without adversely affecting its principal functions
Web commerce software maintainability is a function of the clarity of the code and design, the quality of its documentation, the degree of modularity, and use of structured methodology.
