So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
The “ilities” reviewed in this chapter define the fundamental concepts that are critical to Web commerce activities. A Web commerce environment should address all the “ilities” and ensure that these important characteristics are implemented in a structured, verifiable manner. If they are incorporated efficiently into the Web commerce infrastructure, they will provide for increased performance, high availability, effective security, scalability, increased return on investment, and last but not least, a satisfied customer base.
Chapter 4 discusses e-commerce security in greater detail and explores the means to make security scalable and effect secure transactions.
