In this chapter, we present and focus on a general two-step Zhang time discretization (2S-ZTD) formula with truncation error proportional to the sampling gap. To begin with, the stability and accuracy of the general 2S-ZTD formula are ensured by strict proof. Then, the general 2S-ZTD formula is used for the first-order derivative approximation, and numerical experimental results verify its stability and accuracy.
