Abstract:
Publishers should be concerned about ethics because they carry important responsibilities (shared with editors, authors and reviewers) for the integrity of their publications and because they are professionals. Companies and individuals with long-standing experience of publishing are well placed to develop policies and advise less experienced editors on best practice. Being ethical can also make good business sense, as good policies can prevent serious problems and costly litigation.
