In Chapter 7, Mapping Data That Has Location Information, we analyzed two datasets. The first dataset had information about airports around the world. We used it to visualize how the airports are distributed across countries and continents. Since we had altitude as a feature, we used the screen grid chart type to distinguish airports in South East Asia on a map with its altitude color-coded. Finally, we looked at flight routes from Dhaka, Bangladesh and Teheran, Iran to places around the world.
The first chart requires much more screen space, because it shows points on a much larger geographical area, although less so in the case of South East Asian airports. To achieve this, we can resize the first ...
