What is the Internet of Things?

The IoT is changing the way we travel, purchase items, and provide energy to structures. According to BI Intelligence, the IoT can be defined as, "a network of internet-connected objects able to collect and exchange data." Complex sensors and chips are embedded in devices or things that surround us every day. These sensors and chips collect data from the devices.
