So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Lab 4-execute Snort as Daemon
Executing as a Daemon allows Snort to operate in the background as a service. It also allows Snort to automatically restart in case of failure. You can activate it by using the -D argument in the command syntax:
# snort -D -c /etc/snort/snort.conf -l /var/log/snort/
