Whatever sort of audio system you are dealing with, it’s a pretty safe bet that cables will be involved somewhere. This chapter, taken from the Handbook for Sound Engineers, and written by Glen Ballou, covers loudspeaker cables, digital audio cables, and video cables, as well as audio signal connections. It is no use constructing near-perfect boxes of electronics if the cable leading to them fatally compromises the quality of the signal before it even arrives there.
