The final section of this book “ Recording Studios ” consists of two chapters taken from Philip Newell’s Recording Studio Design. The correction of a poorly-thought-out sound isolation scheme is very likely to be difficult, expensive, and highly disruptive to the business of a recording studio, and it is essential to consider all the issues and lay the plans very carefully before starting construction.

Philip begins by looking at the basics of air and vibrational behavior. The first question that arises is the fundamental one of why sound waves in air are so difficult to stop.
