A Performance Testing and Tuning Example
In this section, we will discuss performance testing and tuning techniques in the context of a real-world application. Our example will be focused on an application called The Global Auction Management System (GAMS). GAMS is a WebLogic application representing an online auction where
Guests can browse for items by category, keyword, and whether or not it is a featured item. They can also view the existing bids for an item.
Guests can register so that they can place items for sale and bid on items as well.
Sellers can list items for sale. They are charged a listing fee and a selling fee.
Buyers can bid on items until an auction ends. At auction's end, the buyer with the highest bid is awarded the item.
