Abstract
A novel approach identified as “blockchain-based drug recall management” addresses a long-standing problem with the way the pharmaceutical industry replaces medicines. This chapter encourages blockchain technology as an effective approach to the problems that present-day systems have, such as taking additionally long to respond, not being clear, and expressing concerns about patient safety. The decentralized and unaltered record of blockchain technology might render the method of recall much more reliable and effective. It talks about the technical aspects of employing blockchain technology and how it could make the entire pharmaceutical supply chain more open, from the companies creating the drugs to the companies that offer them to doctors. It shows through interesting real-world instances how smart contracts may be used to automate recall processes and make sure that safety problems are solved quickly and correctly. It also discusses the privacy and rule problems that might stop blockchain from being utilized in the pharmaceutical industry.
