10 ▪ Facilitating the Process of a Constructive Debate
A well-facilitated meeting can consist of an effectively executed agenda, full participation, active discussion, and meaningful outcomes. Although some organizations have available facilitation services, most groups need to operate on their own. This means that each participant needs to be aware of how to help facilitate a meeting. In general, it’s better to have someone other than the formal leader performing that function, because it may be difficult for the leader or the participants to separate the two roles.
