10.4.1 Model Philosophy
What was presented earlier is the workow from the conceptual level to the
delivery of a ight-worthy payload to the satellite project for nal integration
with the satellite FM. Every satellite project has a model philosophy to ensure
all the subsystems and the satellite bus are tested to develop condence that the
total system will perform as per the planned mission goals. In the early years
of satellite building, a number of hardware models were developed to ensure
satellite design is robust. To qualify the structural design and to correlate
with the mathematical model, a structural hardware model is developed, which
includes mechanical dummies (to simulate mass) of all the subsystems. ...
