Appendix: Representative Imageries
We shall present here representative imageries from some of the Earth obser-
vation cameras. Imageries can be represented as black and white when only
one spectral band is used or as a color picture by combining two or more
spectral bands. In a black-and-white picture, different digital values are seen
in different gray tones. A color picture is made of three primary colors: red,
green, and blue. When we have a mixture of different proportions of these
primary colors, we get different color shades. In principle, imagery from any
three spectral bands can be combined to generate color pictures. When the
