I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Storing diagnostic data using Azure storage
Azure diagnostics logs are not permanently stored. They are rollover logs, that is, they are overwritten by newer ones. So, if we have to use them for any analysis work, we have to store them. Azure diagnostics logs can be either stored in a file system or transferred via FTP; better still, it can be stored in an Azure storage container.
There are different ways to specify an Azure storage container for diagnostics data for the specified Azure resource (in our case, microservices hosted on the Azure app service). These are as follows:
- CLI tools
- PowerShell
- Azure Resource Manager
- Visual Studio 2013 with Azure SDK 2.5 and higher
- Azure portal
