This is a new reality you will face as a .NET developer: working with microservices. Containers are new binaries. With Visual Studio, we compile the .NET program. And after compilation, Visual Studio produces .NET assemblies, namely DLLs or EXE. We take this set of associated DLLs and EXEs emitted by the compiler and deploy them on the servers. So, in short, our deployment unit was in the form of assemblies. Not anymore! Well, we still have .the NET program generating EXEs and DLLs, but our deployment unit has changed in the microservice world. It is a container now.
