One of the most alluring aspects of business intelligence (BI)—the graphic visualization—also presents a bit of a conundrum to the BI professional. Upon the initiation of a BI program, a common pattern is that the first task be the review and selection of tools, especially when visual fireworks triggered interest in instituting a BI program in the first place.
