There are numerous formal definitions of Business Intelligence. Many may be found by searching the World Wide Web. If you use a web search tool and use Business Intelligence as a keyword, the number of hits is staggering. I did this as an exercise and got 2,520,000 hits.

If I refine the search to “Business Intelligence,” I have now pared the list down to 911,000. Obviously, many have something to say or present about BI. You may now surf the web and take a break from reading if you wish!
