By now, readers should recognize the benefits of Quality of Service (QoS) features, such as traffic shaping, traffic policing or queuing, and how these QoS features help to improve the performance of Frame Relay services for mission-critical applications during congestion. Mission-critical traffic, such as Voice over IP (VoIP), is normally classified as higher-priority traffic because its delay-sensitive nature demands an improved level of QoS handling with consistent delay. In general, QoS features allow Frame Relay networks to provide improved and predictable services to mission-critical traffic.
