I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
This chapter discusses several key items that you will need when you are hacked. The one key point you should remember is to not panic. Panic only leads to mistakes and errors.
Be prepared in advance for an attack to happen. Make frequent backups of not only your site, database, and other files, but also of the log files.
You learned about a few tools such as NMAP and NESSUS to assist you in discovering problems with your server.
Lastly, having a current communications plan prepared in advance is well worth the time spent crafting it.
You can be prepared and you can be successful in defending against an attack if you follow the steps in this chapter.
Regarding attacks, one key area to ensure you're defensible is your wireless communications. In Chapter 10, you will learn about defending, strengthening, and supporting wireless communications in your network securely.
