What’s Covered?

This book addresses programmer attitudes, but it’s not some kind of psychology textbook. We’ll investigate many topics, including:

• Source code presentation

• Defensive coding techniques

• How to debug programs effectively

• Good teamworking skills

• Managing your source code

I’ve been mentoring trainee programmers for many years, and these are the topics that have come up time and time again. I’ve also worked in the software factory for long enough to have seen the recurring problems—I address these too.
