Abstract
DNA barcoding, a new way of quickly identifying any species based on the collection of a DNA sequence from the minuscule tissue sample of any individual, is now extended to taxa throughout the tree of life. DNA barcoding helps to identify organisms as a taxonomist research tool by enhancing the ability to analyze organisms by including all phases of the life history of an organism. DNA bar-coding promotes the exploration of biodiversity by identifying species that are theoretically new to science. DNA barcoding is used as a biological technique for solving fundamental ecological and evolutionary issues, such as the formation of organisms in plant communities. There are two basic steps in the DNA barcoding process: (1) creating the DNA barcode library of the identified organisms and (2) comparing the unidentified barcode sequence with the barcode library for authentication.
