I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Die Simian Army
Nach dem 2011er-Ausfall von AWS EAST gab es bei Netflix viele Diskussionen darüber, wie ihre Systeme so gebaut werden könnten, dass sie mit Ausfällen umgehen können. Diese Diskussionen führten zu einem Service namens »Chaos Monkey«.1
Seitdem hat sich Chaos Monkey zu einer ganzen Familie von Tools weiterentwickelt, die intern als die »Netflix Simian Army« bekannt sind und mit denen sich zunehmend katastrophalere Fehlersituationen simulieren lassen:2
- Chaos Gorilla: Simuliert den Ausfall einer ganzen AWS Availability Zone.
- Chaos Kong: Simuliert den Ausfall ganzer AWS-Regionen, etwa Nordamerika oder Europa.
