In the process of designing and developing data governance for your organization, you need to identify the roles and responsibilities necessary for delivering and maintaining the program. Tools, systems, procedures, and policies are all essential, but won’t achieve success alone. Data governance remains a highly human-dependent subject. You need the right people, in the right roles, doing the right thing.
Data governance is an enterprise-wide and centrally-managed ongoing effort. It’s not a series of projects that start and end. To be successful, you need to work with your colleagues to identify and assign responsibilities to a wide range of business stakeholders.
