Increasing numbers of organizations are implementing data governance programs. It’s a reflection of the growing importance of the topic in a world awash in ever-expanding volumes of data. It also suggests more awareness and education about the value of good data management practices. With more success stories to learn from, it’s getting easier to understand some of the best practices that are helping enterprises deliver results with their programs.

To help you on the journey ahead, I’ve identified, through my own experience and research, a number of approaches that can make a difference. Some of these may seem obvious and others not so much. For the ones that seem intuitive, consider them friendly reminders. This list is in no particular order. They are all valuable, so I haven’t prioritized them.
