Conclusion
My earliest interest as a research psychologist was to understand how top marketers went about solving business problems. In my research, I found that the process followed a typical path. It started with an intense period of immersion into the facts and objectives of the project. Next, the marketers trusted their unconscious minds to harvest solutions and ideas. I'm not saying there wasn't a bit of angst accompanying that trust, but most seemed to understand that logic and thinking alone weren't going to produce results. The answers had to come from parts of their mind that they could feed with ideas but couldn't necessarily control.
