One of the other interesting applications of deep learning is predictive medicine, where the goal is to model patient illness and diagnostic processes that typically have long-range temporal dependencies. DeepCare: A Deep Dynamic Memory Model for Predictive Medicine (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1602.00357.pdf) is a recently introduced deep dynamic neural network that attempts to solve this problem.
