Don’t think that you have to be a total nerd to have fun editing photos in a program like Photoshop. You don’t. It helps, but you don’t have to go all in. Me? Oh, well, yes. I sometimes feel like King of the Nerds.

My enthusiasm springs partly from having so much fun using Photoshop. It’s a real creative challenge that is very rewarding. Making photos better — even after I’ve gone over them using Lightroom — fills me with a down-to-earth sense of accomplishment that I thrive on.

Have fun with this chapter. In case you can’t tell already, I’m urging you not to approach it too seriously. I share a few techniques that I use to make my good photos better in Photoshop. It’s pretty astounding what you can do. But I don’t load bad photos into Photoshop. Those shots never make it past the initial flagging phase of my operation.
