Digital twin is a technology which is opening doors to various possibilities in different sectors which will shall prove to be very fruitful. Digital twin basically means a replicated digital model of any device or product. It has great abilities which can benefit various sectors when applied in those sectors. This technology is growing with great pace. It has some really amazing and useful advantages. This chapter is all about the basics of digital twin which includes understanding what it is, discussion regarding the beginning of this technology, its working, features, etc. In this chapter an entire overview of digital twin is provided.
