Abstract
The digital twin technology is a technology that can be useful for the pharmaceutical industry. Pharmaceutical industry is the one which is directly connected to healthcare. Hence, it is one of most important industry. Digital twin is a technology which can help the pharmaceutical industry. Since digital twin can help the pharmaceutical industry, application of it will be very useful for this industry. This chapter explains about the application of digital twin in pharmaceutical industry with examples. The advantages of digital twin in the pharmaceutical industry are also discussed and explained in this chapter.

11.1 Introduction
A digital twin is virtual replication or virtual copy of a physical object, product or process. Digital twin technology has existed since a very long time. In the early 1960s, the work on digital twin had started. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) had started working on digital twin technology. They were the first one to put this technology into use. It was used by them for Apollo 13 program in year 1970.
