Virtual machines and containerization

Let's start first with the topic of virtual machines and containers; it's been the primary infrastructure technology since the advent of cloud computing. These are the enablers in the cloud for the infrastructure as service phenomena. Since these technologies are, basically, packed binary images, one can copy, paste, and replicate them anywhere, any number of times. These images represent a computing machine, an OS image which can be virtually executed, say, inside another super host, which is capable of virtually running, a number of machines and operating systems inside it.
