11.1 INTRODUCTION: SOUND AND NOISE

Noise is a sound that is loud, unpleasant, unexpected or undesired. It is a disruption or disturbance of normal activities which can harm normal activities. The long term or frequent exposure to loud sound can be hazardous to a person. Noise is a subjective in the sense that the sound that is a pleasure for some one can be annoying for others.

It disrupts or disturbs the normal activities like sleeping and conversations and can even harm human health. Noise is a form of pollution as it tends to cause hearing impairment, psychological stress and psychological harm.
