Note: For acronym pronunciation, the default case is to simply spell out the letters. Otherwise, the pronunciation is given in italics within parentheses, e.g., ASIC (A-sick).

Term or Acronym	Definition
Abstraction	Levels of details— higher levels of abstraction hide lower levels of details. (See also Hierarchy and Design views.)
ACM	Association of Computing Machinery (programmer's association).
Accelerators	Usually a hardware device to speed up a simulation or modeling program. Either a card or a special computer.
Accellera	Standards group for a formal verification language, as well as VHDL and Verilog.
Access	The general requirement to reach all the logic inputs during test.
